Steps to Enable/Disable JavaScript
Below are the steps to enable JavaScript
in several browsers.
To disable JavaScript, do the same steps,
but deselect rather than select the
JavaScript options.
Run the browser and then do the steps for
your browser as described below.
.Mozilla
Firefox 1.X:
- Select
the Tools menu ; Options ; Web
Features (at the left) ;
- select
Enable JavaScript ; OK.
Mozilla
1.X:
- Select
the Edit menu ; Preferences ;
- click
on the plus sign to expand
Advanced ;
- Scripts
& Plugins ; below
"Enable JavaScript
for", select Navigator ; OK.
Internet
Explorer 6.X:
- Select
the Tools menu ; Internet Options
; Security (tab) ;
- Custom
Level ; scroll down to Scripting

- below
Active Scripting, select Enable ;
OK.

Explorer 5.X:
- Select
the Tools menu ; Internet Options

- Custom
level button at the bottom right

box will appear;

Scripting category, select Active
Scripting, Allow paste options
via script and Scripting of Java

Scripting ; select Enable for
Active Scripting ;
- OK ;
select the Reload button.

- Select

AOL
9:
- From
the AOL toolbar, select Settings
; from the "Settings:
Essentials" dialog box,
select "Internet [Web]
Options" ;
- select
the Security tab (at the top) ;
select the Custom Level button
(near the bottom) ;
- from
the "Security Settings"
dialog box, scroll down to
"Active scripting" and
select Enable ;
- OK ;
OK ; close AOL ; restart AOL.
AOL
7 or 8:
- From
the "My AOL" menu,
select Preferences ; select the
WWW button ;
- select
the Security tab (at the top),
select the Custom Level button
(near the bottom) ;
- from
the "Security Settings"
dialog box, scroll down to
"Active scripting" and
select Enable ;
- OK ;
OK ; close the Preferences box.
AOL
4.0 & 5.0:
When
using the use AOL browser, you may get a
JavaScript error, but when using an
external browser (Mozilla, IE) this does
not occur. AOL uses compressed graphics
by Default and this doesn't allow Java to
work while browsing inside AOL. (This
also makes photos you view on web pages
look less than their best.)
- Select
the My AOL menu ; Preferences ;
WWW icon ; Web Graphics (tab) ;
- deselect
the box next to Use Compressed
Graphics ; OK ; Restart the
computer.
Note that
there are both 16-bit and 32-bit versions
of AOL 4.0. Only the 32-bit version has
full Java capabilites.
AOL
3.0:
- Select
the Prefs menu ; Security ;
Enable Java Programs ; OK ;
- select
the browser's back button ;
select reload.
